Dr. Nurul Islam, Senior Consultant, Interventional Pediatric Cardiologist – graduated from Calcutta National Medical College in 2004, completed masters in the most respected and delicate branch- MD in Pediatrics in 2010 from the prestigious institute- Ramakrishna Mission Seva Pratisthan after that completed child heart superspeciality from Indraprastha Apollo Hospital under Diplom at National Board (DNB) in 2013. He had exposure of Western Countries, had training in Evelina Children Hospital, London, UK under eminent PediatricCardiologist, Dr. Shakeel Qureshi in 2016.
He is providing heart care to new born babies to adult with congenital cardiac defects for last eight years. He has expertised in diagnosing all type cardiac problems by Transthoracic Echocardiography (TTE), Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE), Electrocardiogram (Pediatric ECG), CT Angio, Angiography. He is a dedicated interventional pediatric cardiologist- does closure of all kind of holes inside heart by the technique of Device Closure(PDA, ASD, VSD, Fistula etc). He takes care of different blockages inside heart or outside by angioplasty technique.
During last 8 years of work he did more than 2500 of pediatric angiography,1000 of device closure, near 500 angioplasty of patients from India and abroad(Bangladesh, Bhutan, Pakistan). He has done angioplasty in the smallest baby of1.2 Kg, youngest baby of 6 hours old. He is also expert in doing cardiac procedures in minimal radiation technique (Radiation is injurious to health) and following innovative way.
He is also expert in doing Fetal Echocardiography- diagnose baby’s heart condition before they are born inside mother’s womb when heart is very tiny-around 1.5-2 cm.
